Junior officer workshop: Safety Navigation Procedure
Last 23 January 2019 MMSM held its 5th batch of Junior Officers workshop at 4th floor 1010 bldg, San Carlos Mansion, T.M Kalaw, Ermita Manila. The workshop was attended by 20 junior officers Participants. This workshop is structured to produce active participation, learning and open forum where Junior officers are freely asked question and clarification to any Navigational issues that would result in a clear understanding with their duties and responsibilities.
Capt. Edgardo De Leon was the facilitator and discussed the importance of complying the standard procedure as per OPM Chapter 6 Bridge Operation Procedure. It is also a good opportunity to encourage junior officers to improve navigational safety and remind them to efficiently execute their duties and responsibilities toward safe navigation of the ship. It also serves as an action plan of the management to prevent re occurrence of the serious incident that happened on one of the managed vessels. This workshop was successfully ended, and each of the participants received certificates of attendance sign by the president.
