Synergistic Approach Towards Safe Navigation

We are also thankful that some of our managed vessels utilizing VSAT were able to join this webinar namely: RMC Rigel, Southern Cross Dream, Kaiyo, Shoyoh, Dyna Crane, and Reihou.

The workshop was structured to produce active participation, learnings, and an open forum where Junior officers are free to ask questions and seek clarification about navigational issues that would help them have a clearer understanding of their duties and responsibilities.

Capt. Amado Laylo facilitated the webinar, and he discussed the importance of compliance with standard procedures as per OPM Chapter 6 Bridge Operation Procedure.

The webinar was also a good opportunity to encourage junior officers to improve on navigational safety and served as a reminder on the efficient execution of their duties and responsibilities toward the safe navigation of the ship.

It also served as an action plan of management to prevent the recurrence of the incidents that happened in MOL vessels in Mauritius, Cigading, Indonesia and the South China Sea.

When the workshop ended, the participants expressed their gratitude for the learnings they gained from this webinar, and to end it with a bang, special awards were given to the officers who topped the quizzes given during the webinar.
