The vessel was instructed to return the last port of call to repatriate the stowaway.
Observation & Recommendations:
Overall, the drill was carried out successfully. When the MMSM staff/Emergency Team assembled at the Emergency Control Headquarters (ECHQ), initial briefing of present situation and condition was conducted. The emergency communication flow was smoothly done. It was also observed that the teams were very familiar to whom to address the reports and what to report. Communication between the Master of the vessel and office were in order. A combination of local language and English was spoken to unsure understanding of the people involved. All the drill components that were tested were eventually met. Contact person for media handling should be appointed to handle every inquiry.
